
The key to this flavor and all of our flavored tofus is that the flavor is infused into the tofu. Our Garlic & Herb Tofu, which is infused with garlic, basil, parsley, dill and chives, has a wonderful flavor through and through. Even when you just open the package, you can smell the flavor.
By infusing the flavor into the tofu, the flavor permeates throughout the tofu while it's being made. You won't believe how full of flavor this tofu is. And the quality of the tofu texture is preserved, along with the new flavor. The idea of the infused flavored tofu is to give people an idea of what direction they can go in creating tofu dishes.
In the case of the Garlic & Herb Tofu, it can be used in place of ricotta cheese in lasagna or in pasta sauces or in any Italian dish. Some people even like to eat it right out of the package. It lends itself to many, many tofu recipes, but definitely in the direction of being savory and flavorful. But not so much for cheesecakes or smoothies, like the original flavor!
This is our most popular infused-flavored tofu, because most people are pretty familiar with garlic and the selection of herbs we use.
Best for: Main dishes (especially Italian or Mediterranean), side dishes, salads, dressings. Even in the simplest preparation of sautéing the tofu in a little bit of olive oil, and adding a splash of tamari, people are blown away.
